TECHNOLOGY AND RENEWABLE ENERGY TAKE CENTER STAGE AT THE 2023 PONCE DE LEÓN AWARDS FROM THE SPAIN-U.S. CHAMBER OF COMMERCE, PRESENTED TO NTT DATA AND ANTHONY CARROLL

NTT DATA and Anthony Carroll, President of Powin, received the Ponce de León Awards for “Company of the Year” and “Executive of the Year,” respectively, in Miami last Thursday.
The awards, presented annually by the Spain-U.S. Chamber of Commerce in Florida, were held at the Biltmore Hotel in Miami during their traditional anniversary gala, marking its 43rd edition this year. The event brought together prominent representatives from the Spanish and American communities in South Florida.

The Ponce de León Company of the Year award was presented to NTT DATA, one of the top 10 global leaders in information technology, generating over $30 billion in IT services worldwide.

The Ponce de León Executive of the Year award was presented to Anthony Carroll, President of Powin. With a prolific career in the renewable energy sector that began in Spain 20 years ago, Anthony currently leads the American company Powin, a leading provider of renewable energy storage solutions in the United States.

Born into a Scottish working-class family, Anthony soon moved to Spain, where he completed his education. Afterward, he joined a Spanish family company, Power Electronics, helping transform it into one of the global leaders in renewable energy. He then held leadership roles in leading energy companies, such as Schneider Electric and Siemens Gamesa, always finding ways to connect European expertise and talent with the incredible potential and entrepreneurial spirit of the United States.
Currently, as President of Powin, he continues to lead the company’s global growth, which has grown from $300 million in revenue in 2021 to over $2.2 billion in 2022. A testament to this global approach and the building of ties between the United States and Spain was the recent acquisition of the Spanish corporation EKS Energy, a leader in power conversion equipment.
