The Spain-US Chamber of Commerce in Florida has officially announced that the recipients of the 2023 Ponce de Leon Awards in the categories of “Company of the Year” and “Executive of the Year” will be NTT DATA and Anthony Carroll, respectively.
Mónica Vázquez, President of the Spain-United States Chamber in Florida, stated that “it is an honor to recognize through these awards both NTT DATA, for its profound impact on the technology sector and the impeccable track record of business excellence it has cultivated for over three decades, and Anthony Carroll, President of Powin, for his successful career in the renewable energy sector in Europe and the United States, the result of his insightful strategic vision and leadership.”
The awards ceremony will take place on November 2nd at the traditional annual Gala of the Spain- United States Chamber of Commerce in Florida, celebrating its 43rd anniversary. In a year when the chamber has more than 520 member companies, to which it provides services to enter and develop their businesses in the US market.
The Ponce de León Company of the Year Award will be granted to NTT DATA: one of the top 10 global companies in IT, generating more than 30 billion dollars in IT services worldwide.

The Ponce de León Executive of the Year Award will go to Anthony Carroll, President of Powin. With a prolific career in the renewable energy sector that began in Spain 20 years ago, Anthony currently is one of the leaders at the American company Powin, one of the largest providers of renewable energy storage solutions in the United States.

The son of a working-class Scottish family, Anthony soon moved to Spain where he completed his education. After this, he joined a family-owned company, Spanish Power Electronics, where he helped transform it from a small company focused on the irrigation business into one of the global leaders in renewable energy. Thereafter, he held leadership positions in global energy corporations like Schneider Electric and Siemens Gamesa. Always finding ways to tie the European experience and talent with the amazing potential and business drive in the US. Currently, as President of Powin, he continues to support the global growth of the company, which has expanded from 300 million in bookings in 2021 to over 2.2 billion in 2022. Proof of this global focus, and of building ties between the US and Spain, was the recent acquisition of Spanish corporation eks Energy, a global leader in Power Conversion equipment.
