- Led by the Spain–U.S. Chamber of Commerce in Florida and Global Hispanic Council, the initiative brings together film, leadership, culture, and celebration to explore the Hispanic community’s role in America’s past and future
MIAMI, FL — November 2, 2026. As the United States commemorates the 250th anniversary of its independence, the Spain–U.S. Chamber of Commerce in Florida and Global Hispanic Council are launching AMERICA250: A Hispanic Vision in Miami. The initiative recognizes the Hispanic community’s historical contributions to the development of the United States and opens a conversation about its role in the country’s next chapter.
Under the theme “250 years of American history. A Hispanic vision for the future,” the initiative comprises four major projects combining storytelling, leadership, celebration, and culture: a Hispanic leadership summit taking place in Miami in two weeks; a gala featuring Hispanic cuisine, music, and culture to close the Summit; a documentary exploring the evolution of the American Dream through the perspectives of different generations of Hispanics in the United States; and a contemporary digital art initiative that will transform Miami into an open-air museum, with a major milestone during Miami Art Week / Art Basel and programming continuing throughout 2027.
Hispanic Leadership Summit
The first component, the A250: Hispanic Leadership Summit, will take place on November 17–18, 2026, at Freedom Tower and Miami Dade College in Miami.
Over two days, the gathering will bring together leaders and institutions from business, culture, media, academia, and the public sector to reflect on Hispanic contributions to the United States, examine opportunities shaping the future, and foster dialogue and connections across sectors.
The program will feature Pedro Azagra, Global CEO of Iberdrola/Avangrid, as its principal keynote speaker. Combining panel discussions and networking, the Summit will explore the past, present, and future of the Hispanic community in the United States.Topics will include Hispanic contributions to the nation’s history; the community’s economic and cultural influence; the future of the American Dream; demographics and talent; competitiveness; global connections; energy; artificial intelligence; infrastructure; finance; education; and healthcare.
Hispanic Celebration Gala
On November 18, 2026, the initiative will host the Hispanic Celebration Gala at Jungle Island in Miami, co-organized by the Spain–U.S. Chamber of Commerce in Florida and Global Hispanic Council.
The Gala is expected to bring together approximately 500 business leaders, institutional representatives, Chamber members, Hispanic Leadership Summit participants, and guests from Spain and the United States for an evening celebrating Hispanic contributions to the country.
The experience will combine networking, Spanish cuisine, cultural performances, live Cuban music, and entertainment. It will begin with a networking cocktail reception, followed by a gala dinner and an after-party.
The program will also feature audiovisual storytelling and cultural moments highlighting the Hispanic community’s heritage and influence in the United States.
The American Dream: Hispanic Voices
A central pillar of AMERICA250: A Hispanic Vision is The American Dream: Hispanic Voices, a documentary featuring Jorge Pérez, Emilio and Gloria Estefan, Daniella Levine Cava, Madeline Pumariega, Eileen Higgins, and Jorge Plasencia, among others. Its premiere is planned for March 2027.
Through testimonies spanning generations and backgrounds in business, public institutions, culture, academia, media, and entrepreneurship, the production explores how the concept of the American Dream has evolved from the perspective of the Hispanic community in the United States.
The documentary is intended for international distribution through film and documentary festivals, television, and global streaming platforms.Through its participants’ stories, the film poses a central question: What does the American Dream mean today, and how are new generations of Hispanics in the United States redefining it?
Synchronía: Open Sky Museum
The cultural component of AMERICA250: A Hispanic Vision is Synchronía: Open Sky Museum, a digital art experience designed to transform Miami into an open-air museum.
Synchronía will feature seven Hispanic digital artists representing different countries, generations, and creative backgrounds: Andrés Reisinger, Pilar Zeta, Daniel Canogar, Glenda León, Fabiola Larios, Solimán López, and Alfredo Salazar-Caro.
The artists have created exclusive digital works around the shared theme of Hispanic Heritage, a connection among Hispanic communities worldwide.
The works will be unveiled on November 23 at an event at Freedom Tower and displayed on digital screens across the city during Art Basel, with activation sites throughout Miami.
In the second half of 2027, the project will culminate in the simultaneous presentation of the artists’ works on prominent LED screens across Miami, bringing contemporary art into the everyday spaces of residents and visitors.
At a designated time each day, participating public and private screens will display the works in synchronization, creating a shared, citywide artistic experience.
