Mónica Vázquez is the General Manager of ABANCA USA, leading the operations of one of Spain’s foremost financial institutions in the United States. Since the bank’s launch in January 2019, she has successfully spearheaded its establishment, consolidation, and growth in the country, playing a key role in strategy, operational management, and business development.
She holds a Law degree and specializes in Finance, with executive certifications from Harvard, Wharton, and IE in Corporate Governance, Strategy, and leadership programs. Mónica brings extensive experience in the banking sector and has been recognized with numerous awards, including the Officer’s Cross of the Order of Civil Merit (2025), the Top 100 Women Leaders award (2023), and distinctions from Bisnow and the Miami World Trade Center.
In addition, she holds prominent leadership positions such as President of the Spain–U.S. Chamber of Commerce, President-elect of FIBA, and board member of institutions including WhE, CRE, and the CCE in Miami.
