On September 24 and 25, 2026, the Spain-U.S. Chamber of Commerce welcomed a delegation from Real Club Deportivo de A Coruña to Miami following its visit to Mexico City. The Miami program was designed to strengthen the club’s presence in the Americas, build new business relationships, and explore potential strategic partnerships. The agenda included several B2B meetings over the course of two days and concluded with a positioning event at the Freedom Tower and FIFA Museum.
The delegation included Massimo Benassi, CEO of RC Deportivo de A Coruña; Michelle Clemente, Vice President; Manuel Hallett, Director of Growth & Expansion; Andrés Zamorano, Business Development – International Growth; and Alejandro Vidal, Head of Commercial & Sponsorships.
The Spain-U.S. Chamber of Commerce collaborated with the club to support its goal of strengthening its presence and relationships across the Americas, connecting its senior leadership with relevant companies in the U.S. market and creating opportunities to explore new areas of collaboration.
RC Deportivo de A Coruña is one of Spanish soccer’s historic clubs and one of only nine teams to have won LaLiga. The club is entering a new phase of sporting and commercial growth, and its visit to Miami provided an opportunity to present its international strategy and explore initiatives such as regional partnership agreements, brand activations, digital content opportunities, and new sponsorship solutions linked to LaLiga broadcasts in the United States and Latin America.
Two Days of Business Meetings
During its stay in Miami, the delegation took part in an extensive schedule of meetings with companies and prospective partners from a variety of industries, with the goal of presenting the club’s growth plans, identifying areas of mutual interest, and exploring new commercial and positioning opportunities in the U.S. market. The business agenda took place throughout September 24 and 25.
An Evening Connecting Football, Business and Galicia
The visit concluded on Friday, September 25, with a special event at Miami’s iconic Freedom Tower, bringing together approximately 120 guests, including business representatives, prospective partners, fans and supporters of the club, members of the RC Deportivo delegation, and representatives of the Spain-U.S. Chamber of Commerce. The evening began with a private tour of the FIFA Museum, located inside the Freedom Tower, attended by nearly 50 guests, including representatives from RC Deportivo de A Coruña and ABANCA. The event program began at the FIFA Museum before moving to the Knight Skylight Gallery.
Guests then gathered in the Knight Skylight Gallery where Mónica Vázquez, President of the Spain-U.S. Chamber of Commerce in Florida and Country Head of ABANCA USA, welcomed guests with a particularly heartfelt speech. As a Galician herself, she shared how meaningful it was to see so many RC Deportivo de A Coruña fans and supporters gathered in Miami, on the other side of the Atlantic, to support the club. Her remarks highlighted the strong connection between the Galician community and RC Deportivo, and how that bond continues to thrive far beyond Galicia.
One of the most emotional moments of the evening was a video highlighting some of the club’s most memorable milestones, from the celebrated “Super Dépor” era to its latest sporting chapter.
The event also welcomed Spanish media outlet El Español, which conducted an interview with Massimo Benassi, CEO of RC Deportivo de A Coruña, providing an additional opportunity to share the club’s vision and strengthen its visibility during its Miami visit.
The evening concluded with a Galician-inspired networking cocktail, providing a relaxed setting for guests, companies and club representatives to continue the conversations initiated throughout the business mission. Estrella Galicia served as the official beer sponsor of the cocktail, bringing an additional Galician touch to the evening and reinforcing the connection between the event and the region’s identity. The networking reception took place in the Knight Skylight Gallery and served as the final part of the evening.
The visit reflects the Spain-U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s continued commitment to building bridges between Spain and the United States, facilitating meaningful business connections and supporting Spanish companies, organizations and brands as they expand and strengthen their presence in the U.S. market.
